@kChamp So Kyle probably already has a plan for what he going to do with these gears, so this might just be a fun idea. It builds off a previous thread I made. So the purpose of gears would be to buy chests. There could be three chests: bronze, silver, and gold, with bronze being the cheapest and gold being the most expensive. Likewise, gold chests have the highest chance of getting something good. Whats in these chests? Special perks! Special perks will add some uniqueness to your style of play. It would have a roll system. Only one special perk can be equipped at a time. Here is some ideas: Normal Bigger Gun: Increase your overall damage by [1-3]% Tougher Armor: Decrease your overal damage taken by [1-3]% Efficient Boxes: Using a box item will give you [2-5] more weapons Wind-resistant: Your shots are now not affected by wind Extra-boost: Jetpack items now go twice as far! Long shot: Long distance shots do [3-5]% more damage Unstoppable force: Rollers now roll for twice as long Marker Maniac: All flair type weps have small magnetic effect (credit: @drake28034) Rare Firefighter: Increase your damage with fire type weapons by [5-10]% Water Warrior: Increase your damage with water type weapons by [5-10]% Animal Tamer: Increase your damage with animal weapons by [5-10]% Munchie Madness: Increase your damage with food weapons by [5-10]% (credit: @drake28034 ) Multiple Targets: When hit more than 1 tank, increase crit hit chance by [5-10]% Harden: If enemy tank is within [150-300] px, decrease damage taken by [20-30]% Rage: When less than [50-100] hp, increase crit hit chance by [10-20]% Very Rare Party Time: Pinata now drops [1-2] extra pinatas, fiesta now drops [3-5] extra pinatas RockSlide: Boulder, and Fireball now bounce twice as much. Hydrogen Bomb: Increase Nuke and MegaNukes blast radius by [25-50]% Pig-Buster: Livid birds adds a fourth bird, the bomb bird Bouncy Immunity: All shots go through bumpers (credit: @Google567) Gear Magnet: All gears are automatically collected (credit: @Google567 ) (poor photoshop below - but now slightly updated!) For example lets take "Bigger Gun". This perk you get will have a chance to increase your damage [1-3]%. So you could get unlucky and get one thats just 1%, or get lucky and get a 3%. Some of them as you can see do not have a roll associated with them. In this system, you would be able to sell back some special perks for half price or something similar. So what do you think? I love the idea and such creativity that surely can be built on. I like how cheaper chests are still good but the expensive ones are worth the grind. In short you get what you pay for but saving has its benefits compared to cheaper chests. A great point you made is that you can only have one equipped at a time so its still fair and every player doesn't own with so many perks. Kyle should look at this and I'll try to make that happen for you. Wheres the +5 like button.
That moment when SSL is now officially RPG. Cool ideas though, it would add some taste to the game. The sad thing is that there's been a few suggestions very similar to this but kChamp never responded :/
I like that idea! maybe a Marker Maniac perk that makes all flares have a small magnet effect when close to enemies.
I have 2 more. Natural Disasters perk: where any weapon that contains water, lightning, fire will do 5% more damage Munchie Madness perk: All food based weapons have 5% chance to do crits or 5% more damage
I'd be more with the idea if instead of having an overall pool of upgrades which could be present in any chest, bronze to gold, you had three separate pools of upgrades per chest. I don't think any of us would like it if we spent 200 gears (about 16 total hours of gameplay, maybe more now), and we get the worst upgrade in the game. True, we would need to brainstorm many more upgrades for that to work, but it would be successful. If you don't quite understand what I'm saying, I'm basically just making upgrades chest-exclusive. Upgrades in bronze cannot appear in silver and gold. Honestly, I still would like an official store interface, like in the other SSLs. I don't like being blindsided when I buy something under any circumstance, even if it is just in-game currency. However, if we were to implement it, it would guarantee better upgrades to those who save. This would be better for all demographics of the game.
Gear Magnet For all those times when gears fly off the page and your too distracted by a high explosive weapon. This would be a small help percentage that would draw it towards your tank if your close to the reaction where the gear originated and flew out.
