Hi , I it's starting to get really lonely, in ssl2 many pros that were here moved to steam.... And all I have to play with are my clan mates and a few other friends...and a bunch of new players that I don't know e.e I was wondering if people would come back ?
Some may come back in part but never fully. Kyle did say once steam version is released and to the point where updates can happen on a routine basis not taking too much of his time he'll shift his focus to SSL2. Of course he said updates on SSL2 will be less than on steam but some things such as weapon packs will be designed in time.
I'll be very honest... i dont understand how someone would trade SSLS for SSL2 without a very great reason... ssl2 is so inferior that its actually funny to see it after playing SSLS... I wouldnt mind if Kyle just deleted ssl2 I seriously think Kyle should make something to incentivate the migration of players... people spend way more money in ssl2 so thats not an excuse... i just understand people that doesnt have good enough PCs to run SSLS because they dont have an option anyway. But well... since you cant separate the unequipped people from the lazy ones... guess ssl2 has to continue as it is.
Well... ssl1 was the thing before ssl2 and i dont think many tears would be shed if he deleted it right? Outdated versions tend to be doomed. The only reason ssl2 is still running with considerable people is because some players dont understand they'll spend less money in SSLS than they would staying. Like i said... only people with bad PCs would have a real reason to stay cause no option. Either way Kyle plans to keep ssl2 running so dont worry
Surprisingly he has ssl1 on Kongregate which is still up and running with some people in it and that game has no micro transactions in it at all I belive. Some people like to go back to the old days which is fine. That's how you see progress being made.
yes, people will still play, when they have time lol and actually there are microtransactions in ssl1 too.
Outdated games usually get abandoned as Johann said, yeah. But that's only if the game - and the community - is large enough (such as the Counter-Strike series). However in this case, kChamp shouldn't even think about removing those two games as they're basically what he's getting the most money from. I'm sure we can all agree here that the Steam version is not doing well at all. Removing those games may be a positive choice since it seems most people are like "hey why am I going to pay for a flash remake pfffff". But it'd still be a gamble to sacrifice the predecessors. Either way, Kyle said in-game that he will not terminate the servers.
ssl2 is the most played game of KChamp, even after the launch of ssls,it must not be deleted. It would be noobish.
I often find myself far lonelier in ssl steam than ssl2. I'm always the odd one out, unable to get a game going because everyone else online's got their own 1v1 going or they're unwilling to join a high lvl game. #SSLPlayersDyingRace #NotEvenaRealHashtag
I feel bad for the people who grinded in this game... all that hard work gone to waste if ssl becomes dead.
If you want... you can add me there. All you have to do is ask and i'll add you to my room or make an effort to make myself available.
Ehem .... Back on subject people can stay on ssl2 as long as they want but in reality steam version is going to get priority of everything in due time. That will leave players to ether move to the next version or continue playing it as long as the game runs with updates non-existent or very minimal.
